Musical Heroes
I haven't done likenesses in a while, but here are two I've been working on. I decided to challenge myself and keep them simple. Björk started off as a type illustration assignment, so I went in a similar direction for Freddy Mercury. I'm going to do a few more. Any suggestions? I'm thinking Amy Winehouse.

New Work!
I've been a bad, bad, blogger. Here are a few new(ish) things:
Cover for an untitled Benjamin Franklin biography.
Apparently Ben Franklin was one of the first known American chess players, as well as something of a ladies man.
---
A couple of pin-up girls, for a collaborative jewelry project I'm working on with fellow pin-up enthusiast, and genuinely awesome person, Amelia Tatro (more details to follow).
---
And now for a complete change of pace:
Cover for A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Hello World!
I'm a soon-to-be-graduating Illustration Senior at the Rhode Island School of Design.
I love and am inspired by classic cinema and corny technicolor musicals, fairy tales, pulp covers, period fashion, vintage ads and real Chinese food. I plan to update this blog with plenty of sketchbook, in progress and finished work, so check back often!
<-- Here's some new work to start. I might add color to this eventually, but for now I like it in almost black and white.
